FONDATION FOLON General Terms and Conditions of Sale and Internal Rules and Procedures

1.  Terms of use

Your e-ticket will be sent to you by email once your online payment has been made and approved.

On arrival at the museum, take your e-ticket (in digital format or on paper) to the reception desk for validation.

Entry to the museum and/or participation in any activity purchased online is subject to a validity check and to the conditions set out on the ticket.

If you don’t receive your e-ticket, please check your spam folder.

If you are still having problems, please contact the Fondation Folon. 

Individual visitors may buy an e-ticket for entry to the museum or for one of its activities.

Prices are as shown on the museum website.

If you wish to make a group booking (10 people or more), please ask via our website : [coming soon]

2.  Cancellation, changes and resales

E-tickets for admission to the Fondation Folon or participation in its activities cannot be cancelled, refunded, changed or carried over to a later date. These e-tickets may not be resold and are valid only on the date selected by the visitor at the time of purchase.

This includes bookings for watercolour classes, travel journal courses, guided tours and intergenerational workshops.

In the event of force majeure (due to weather-related events, accidents or social unrest, etc., the list of which is non-exhaustive), the Fondation Folon reserves the right to refuse access to the museum to visitors who bought their tickets online. In such circumstances, the museum team will invite the visitor to use their ticket on another date.

Any visitor or participant in an activity who is prevented from attending by reason of force majeure must call the reservations department on 02/653.34.56 or email them at the following address: reservations@fondationfolon.be.

3.  Information regarding activities: travel journal courses and watercolour classes

On certain weekends and during school holidays, the Fondation Folon organises courses for adults and young people over the age of 16.
Payment for these activities is made online by secure payment methods. Participants will receive confirmation and proof of payment by email. Bookings cannot be cancelled, refunded or amended.

Travel journal courses take place at the Fondation from 10.15 am to 4.15 pm, with a lunchbreak. Participants are advised to wear appropriate clothing for the weather conditions and for going out into the park.
Watercolour courses take place either in the morning (10 am to 1 pm) or in the afternoon (2 pm to 5 pm). 

4.  Liability

Individuals who arrive at the museum for a visit or activity must comply with the safety rules and respect the safety instructions in force at the museum as set out in the Internal Rules and Procedures listed below.
The Fondation accepts no liability for any loss or theft incurred by a visitor inside the museum, in the courtyard or in the carpark (which belongs to the Solvay Regional Estate). If any liability is established on the part of the Fondation, is well covered by third party liability insurance.

5.  Complaints

The Fondation Folon team is committed to ensuring that your visit to our museum is enjoyable and stress-free. However, if you are not fully satisfied, please let us know at info@fondationfolon.be. Your feedback will help us improve the quality of our services.

6.  Dispute resolution

The various courts of the Brabant Wallon judicial district have sole jurisdiction to settle any dispute in which the Fondation Folon may be involved, either as plaintiff or defendant.

7. TProcessing of personal information and privacy

In the course of its operations, the Fondation Folon collects and processes personal information relating to its clients and the users of its website. This information is required for the purposes of managing bookings and invoicing, and also for the provision of information relating to bookings.

The information collected is strictly confidential and is used solely for the purposes set out above. Under no circumstances will it be sold, shared with or transferred to third parties for marketing purposes without the explicit consent of the user, unless required by law or court order.

In accordance with (EU) Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR) and the amended Act of 6 January 1978, users have the following rights with regard to their information: the right of access, the right to rectification, the right to object, the right to deletion and the right to portability.

The information is retained only as long as is strictly necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, or in accordance with current legal requirements (notably with regard to accounting and tax).

8. Cookies 

This website uses cookies. They are small text files that remember certain settings and enable you to browse the website quickly and easily. 

  • Functional cookies: used to remember your preferred language, for example
  • Session cookies: used for searches, for example. Session cookies disappear when you leave the site 

Most web browsers accept cookies automatically. If you do not wish to accept the use of cookies, you can disable them. However, we cannot guarantee that this site will then remain fully functional. You would then only be able to consult the site. Other actions such as confirming an online purchase, carrying out a search, etc. would not be possible.

9. Internal Rules and Procedures

We are delighted to welcome you to the Fondation Folon. Please comply with the following rules to ensure that the artworks are kept safe, our staff are treated respectfully and visitors have a safe and pleasant experience.

Article 1

These rules apply not only to all visitors to the Fondation Folon’s permanent and temporary exhibitions, but also to:

  • people or groups authorised to use certain parts of the premises for various meetings or events
  • anyone not connected with the different departments who is on the premises for professional or personal reasons
Article 2

Refusal to comply with these rules will result in a warning from our security team and/or legal proceedings.

Article 3

Visitors must have their entry tickets with them during their visit to the museum, as these may be checked at any time. The ticket is valid all day.

Article 4

The Fondation Folon is open from Tuesday to Friday (9 am to 5 pm) and Saturday, Sunday and public holidays (10 am to 6 pm). Last entry to the museum is 4 pm on weekdays and 5 pm at weekends and on public holidays. Visitors are asked to leave the exhibition spaces 15 minutes before closing time.

Article 5

The following items may be taken into the museum: 

  • Wheelchairs
  • Guide dogs belonging to people who are visually impaired or have disabilities (please introduce yourself at the reception desk)
  • Pushchairs
Article 6

The following items may not be taken into the museum:

  • Large bags (maximum size allowed: 40 x 25 x 20 cm) or rucksacks
  • Any object which could damage the works on display or pose a safety risk for visitors and staff
  • Food and drink
  • Umbrellas, unless they can be folded and carried in a handbag
  • Walking sticks with no protective tip
  • Animals (with the exception of guide dogs for the visually impaired)

Our reception staff reserve the right to refuse any object that they consider unsuitable.

No photography is allowed in the 1st part of the museum to avoid damage to the artworks.
Reproductions are available for purchase in the Artshop.

Article 7

The Fondation Folon accepts no responsibility for any items left on the premises.


Article 8

School groups should report to the reception desk on arrival and should leave their belongings in the storage boxes provided.

Article 9

All items left in the cloakroom or in storage boxes must be removed on the same day, before the museum closes. Any items which have not been removed after a period of 48 hours will be treated as lost property.

Article 10

Any valuables or identity documents found in the museum will be handed over to the Visitor Services department Telephone: 02/653.34.56

Article 11

The Fondation Folon asks visitors to:

  • treat the premises, furnishings, equipment and toilets with respect and ensure they are kept clean
  • treat the Fondation Folon staff and its visitors politely and respectfully
  • keep their young children with them at all times
Article 12

The Fondation Folon asks its visitors to respect the following instructions. Please do not:

  • touch the artworks
  • throw paper on the floor
  • shout in the museum
  • lean against the walls  
  • lean against display cases, pedestals or any other display equipment
  • run in the exhibition spaces or on the stairs
  • sit on the stairs, making it difficult for people to pass
  • use selfie sticks
  • smoke
  • eat or drink outside the designated areas (members’ area or coffee corner in the shop)
  • spoil the enjoyment of others. Your must keep your mobile phone switched off while in the exhibition spaces 
  • use flash when taking photos
Article 13

Visitors must follow instructions given by members of the Fondation Folon staff.

Article 14

Constructive comments and suggestions may be made in the visitor book by the Artshop exit.

Article 15

Group visits with an independent guide/facilitator (who is not part of the Fondation Folon team) must be led by a competent adult who undertakes to ensure that group members comply with all these rules and behave in an orderly and disciplined manner. All members of the group must remain close to the group leader.

Article 16

In the event of an accident, a person feeling unwell, an incident or anything suspicious, a member of Fondation Folon staff must be informed.

Article 17

If a fire breaks out on the premises, remain calm. The alarm will sound and the doors will be opened. You should leave the building and inform the Fondation Folon staff in the area concerned immediately. Visitors will be guided to an assembly point by a member of the Fondation Folon staff.
